The Draft energized the anti-Viet Nam sentiment; Bush has energized the anti-Iraq sentiment:

Crowds on Both Coasts Protest Iraq War
By CALVIN WOODWARD and LARRY MARGASAK, Associated Press Writers

"WASHINGTON - Convinced this is their moment, tens of thousands marched Saturday in an anti-war demonstration linking military families, ordinary people and an icon of the Vietnam protest movement in a spirited call to get out of Iraq.

Air Force Staff Sgt. Tassi McKee, 26, an intelligence specialist at Fort Meade, Md., said she joined the Air Force because of patriotism, travel and money for college. "After we went to Iraq, I began to see through the lies," she said."

"Anti" is so very, very negative!

It draws the lines too clearly and absolutely turns a few people on but equally turns lots of people off. These neophytes need to learn from professional agitators!

Some examples:

If you're against women having abortions, you're not "anti-abortion" - you're "Pro-Life".

If you're in favor of allowing women to have abortions, you're not "anti-life" - you're "Pro-Choice".

So it follows that "anti-war" might make it but can never make it big.

It needs something positive in the title.

How about:

Pro-insurgent? Insurgent has kind of a positive ring to it.

Pro-terrorist? -- not gonna work. Not because terrorists don't have a substantial constitutency (wake up - I mean worldwide), rather because too many people are in denial that there actually are any terrorists.

Pro-appeasement? Nawwww....too many syllables in "appeasement" for most of the public to comprehend. An awful lot of people think "appeasement" (if they've ever heard the word) means the act of standing outside an old airplane waving a sheet of paper. In the cold.

Pro-peace? That'll work until the protests turn violent then it becomes an oxymoron. Ya really don't wanna title you'll have to change later.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if, on this forum, somebody came up with a positive term for the anti-Iraq-war movement that the networks adopted as their own?

Like the song says....

"Accen-tu-ate the Positive......"

Rember nit-pickers, ye can copyright a lyric but ye canna copyright a title!
