Pronunciation Question...

OK... so this may be a stupid question, or it could turn into a running thread... but if anyone has added this artist... how are you pronouncing his name on the air:

Paolo Nutini

Right now, I'm having my jocks say PAUL-oh new-TEE-knee... and I can't find ANY pronunciation on his name anywhere online.

Any help?

And if you haven't checked out his song... give "New Shoes" a listen.

Hey Beejus,

I'm not sure if I'm right on this, but I used to have a friend named Paola and I'm told that it's a similar pronunciation:

pah-O-low

Maybe that's it? lol ::)

BTW: I saw the "New Shoes" video on VH1, so it might be on their "Top 20 Countdown" show...in which case the host would frontsell/backsell the artist. Guess I'll have to listen out for that too! :)

Pretty good tune. Added it this week. And I'm pronouncing his name the same as you are. I'm guessing that would be how it might be pronounced in his native Scotland. If I could just break the afternoon guy of his habit of mispronouncing "sha-KYE-ra" and "DEE-doh", we'd be making progress... ::)

Listen to Casey Kasem's show, or Ryan Seacrest on AT-40. When I was programming, we always used what Casey used as the definitive answer.

That would require me to listen to the competition ;)

I've heard VH1 news say it as both Paul-O, and Pay-oh-low.
