Prediction for CRTC increases FM ownership limit to 3FMs per language per market

I know its late but I could imagine the end of smaller non-vertically intergrated players such as Stingray, Jim Pattison, and Evanov if Bell, Rogers, or Corus adds a third FM in their station and improve their streaming apps like iHeartRadio and RadioPlayer.

Here's how the CRTC breaks it down in two links: (Broadcasting Regulatory Policy CRTC 2022-332 | CRTC) and (Key Radio Regulations and Policies | CRTC).

News coverage: (https://rbr.com/what-does-a-revised...uch, the CRTC amended,or AM) in that language), (Canada Revises CanCon & Radio Ownership Rules - RadioInsight), and (https://www.fasken.com/en/knowledge/2022/12/bulletin-communications).

But here's how the prediction that one Montreal Gazette reporter named Steve Faguy breaks down if Bell adds 2 French AMs and 1 FM in both English and French: How CRTC policy changes could affect commercial radio in Montreal | Fagstein

Remember in 2010 when Corus Entertainment when they sold their Quebec stations to cable provider COGECO CRTC allowed an exemption since they only have 3 French FMs and 1 sole English FM. Then there was Bell Media bought Astral Media in 2013 allowing an exemption to the CRTC to own 5 other English FMs. But on the FM side there's only 2 French stations left meaning that Bell can only buy one either sports station CKLX 91.9 and convert to RDS Radio similar how TSN does in Toronto, Edmonton, Ottawa and Montreal or an AC station CJPX 99.5.

As for other markets such as Toronto, Ottawa (both English and French), Halifax, Kitchener, London, Windsor, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, or even smaller markets such as Victoria, Kelowna, Barrie, Kingston, Peterborough, Saskatoon, Regina, etc. Find out soon for the rest of the year if the M&A heats up again. Feel free to make your own 3fm combos in the market in your comments but for my perspective I do want a Country station focusing on the main core GTA market in the nation's largest city Toronto rather than go to either near Barrie if your in Newmarket, York or Vaughan, Hamilton if your in Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville, or Halton, or Oshawa if your in Scarborough.
