This article summarizes some of the issues going on with the false issue that CPB needs to force NPR/PBS to the right to "balance" them....this blog entry also has a link to the CPB's own web site where the ombudsmen post entries on stories...(FYI for the record, the ombudsmen are not liberals, they are republican and were selected by Tomlinson himself)

Info - Ombudsman Bode: (
http://www.hudson.org/learn/index.cfm?fuseaction=staff_bio&eid=Bode
(btw: Hudson a very conservative thinktank)

Info - Ombudsman Schultz:

Now, this should be a good assessment that all can agree on...i would hope...but I know better..LOL

CPB is a joke. If you apply for CPB funding they have NO Oversight to see that they follow their own rules for funding. They are able to exclude stations at their whim agaisnt their own rules.

In one local case they lost an application for CPB funding for over a year. After loosing the application (again - over a year) CPB decided not to provide funding because they indicated links on a stations website (not station programming) allowed a local church ministry group to have a voice.

No hearing, no recourse, no oversight. Why do they have Congressional funds?

Can you provide a link to the application for funding, and be sure to italicize the parts that indicate the rules you speak of.

No link for this story? No call letters even? This makes me doubt this is true.

More information, please.
