Nickell Back--Photograph--(Why does everyone hate it)

I heard nothing but bad reviews about this song, before I actually even heard it myself. When I did hear it, shortly after reading that, I couldnt figure out why everyone hates it so bad, I think its a pretty cool song, and I,ll admit that its been growing on me. My girlfriend really loves it, and I think it reminds people of High School years, and growing up in small towns, and thats probably why people in the Midwest can really relate to it. Even one of my Favorite European (DANCE-LEANED) CHRs (Radio Hot FM)--93.7 Bulgaria www.radiohotfm.com is playing it every few hours, sandwiched between Mostly Dance Hits, and some (rhythmic (POP))

I hate the song because  zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Huh? Oh, right, the song.
I hate because it's boring and dumb
The guitar and the lyrics

I don't hate it that much. I think it's a great song.
______________

Why it sucks.

Why I hate "Photograph": the lyrics are boring. There's nothing original about them. It's the same, worn-out, late 90's soft rock sound that I was sick and tired of twenty minutes after midnight, January 1st, 1997. Same for the tune. It's slow, it's depressing, and it turns me off the moment I hear "Look at this photograph..." It's just not a good song.

I can't stand it. It's incredibly repetitive, the melody goes nowhere, and the lyrics are more cliche than a bad rap song. It's lyrically and musically boring and a ripoff.

The lyrics are ripped from any John Mellencamp song or Springsteen's "Glory Days". The music is ripped from any other Nickelback song. They just keep remaking "How You Remind Me". I haven't liked a single Nickelback song since that one, although "Too Bad" was all right.

One song I have kinda been liking recently is Bon Jovi's "Who Says You Can't Go Home?" which WPST plays. It just goes to show you that if you want an 80's-style reminiscing song, get a real 80's artist to do it! It's miles better than Nickelback's attempt.

I would love to see CHR embrace Bon Jovi again they are one of the few 80's CHR staples still around that have survived than most bands who came out 10 years ago.
The only close to CHR that even plays Bon Jovi these days is WZPL in Indianapolis.

I'm just repulsed by Nickelback, though I did like Chad Kroeger's duet with Josey Scott on "Hero".
______________

You could have at least spelt Nickelback correctly. It isn't that hard.

Go to the website "metacritic.com" Midwest and read the handful of reviews for their new record and you'll have a pretty clear idea why it's so abominable!! (Since most of the postings below reflect the opinions expressed in those reviews, I think they're pretty reliable).
