That is by far the best radio line up I've ever seen, sadly it will never be :( For once all formats are covered and IF the DC/Baltimore radio dial was exactly as you laid it out, we may actually have a chance at getting a few stations up there in the raitings. I will put up my ideal DC radio dial soon, in the meantime lets see what other people put up here in relation to your post. Hey how bout the AM dial, any suggestions?

No AC? None at all? Or I'm a missing something?<P ID="signature">______________

No, no AC but why is does Oldies Big 100.3, and 955, and DC 101 the only stations the same (and 939 ,mainly the same)

Why don't u keep the some stations where they are and change others, since some of the formats are in both the real list and your list. Or did u it by which company does the best formats?

How about combining wash and batimore Classic Rock stations 99.5 and 105.7 the Eagle then the top of our will say "W___ 995 Washington, W____ 1057 Baltimore your Classic Rock station serving Washington and Baltimore 995 and 1057 the Eagle"

and same the TOP 40 - Washington and Baltimore's # 1 Hit Music station Z95 and Z106" or "Washington and Baltimore's # 1 Hit Music station 951 and 1065 "Hit FM"

Or at least have the same company own the 2 CHR's and Classic Rocks?

what u think ?

I don't understand this one. Is this in place of WYPR at 88.1? Or would this be a new public station on the current 98 Rock freq.?

The signals are similar, and I don't see any public entity being able to come up with the cash to purchase WIYY.

Very interesting notion, but it would inevitably raise a lot of questions. Off the top of my head...

Hot A/C is one of the most successful and profitable formats in radio, yet the only one you list is on an Annapolis frequency. (If you think this will adequately serve both cities, consider that 99.1 is on the same tower, and that station has always had signal issues in Northern VA and indoors in the District.)

You've eliminated FM talk stations from the dial altogether. I suppose Howard Stern could be placed on 92.3 and 101.1, but Don & Mike do extremely well in both cities, and The Junkies are still a big hit in Washington.

You've got both Spanish stations on Baltimore signals (100.7 and 101.9), when there are relatively few Hispanic people in Baltimore compared to the DC area. Meanwhile, there are LOTS AND LOTS of Hispanic people in Northern VA and a good amount in Prince George's County, but no DC-area signal to serve them.

You're taking away DC's smooth jazz station without replacing it. Depending on the 102.7 signal from Baltimore to cover DC isn't sufficient. Same goes for the country format...you've only got it in Baltimore, but it does very well in DC as well.

I don't see a classical station anywhere. Considering that that WETA cut their classical programming, you've eliminated it altogether from DC.

In DC, I see you've got a CHR/Rhythmic at 93.9 and an Urban station (you're calling it "Hip Hop", which currently means the same thing) at 95.5. If 93.9 is truly going to be CHR/Rhythmic, I can't see them competing with the Urban format in DC while a CHR/Mainstream (aka Top 40) station is taking their share of the ratings. WPGC lists itself as CHR/Rhythmic, but it is really an Urban station like WKYS, so if you mean for 93.9 to be a second Urban station, that's certainly fair. (There's always been plenty of room for two hip hop stations in DC.)

Speaking of which...your DC and Baltimore CHR/Mainstream (Top 40) stations are both on Baltimore signals.

You're taking away Baltimore's well-performing active rock station (98 Rock) without replacing it. Rock does well in blue-collar cities like Baltimore, as evidenced by the fact that there's always been room for 98 Rock and WHFS to get good ratings at the same time.

No stations for Bonneville or Radio One? Considering that Radio One is based in the DC area, and it's one of the strongest cities in the nation for their urban formats, I'd rethink that.

Last but not least...you haven't made a plan for one of the best FM signals in the DC area...105.1, currently Christian-formatted WAVA-FM. And how about 94.7, 98.7, 102.3, 103.5, 104.1, 105.9, and 106.7 in DC? Or 95.9 in Baltimore?
