If June 10th's Plains extravaganza was great, this one blew it out of the water. I wasn't intending to log Es at this particular locale; rather my original plans were to hike to Lost & Manastash Lake again and finally head up to the Funny Rocks area on Manastash Ridge at 5650'. On this trip, I only got about 1.5 miles of hiking time in, because the ionosphere decided to do its thing. And was it an opening to cherish - with at least THREE DOZEN NEW stations!! Most of these logs were heard at a lower level ridge above Lost Lake at 4800', with a straight east to southeast view. That enhanced the Es reception to near-overloading levels on the 909X on some stations. Many locals got wiped out, including briefly, KXLE!!! Several Yakima FMs were wiped out as well, an astonishing opening. Times are approximate, because not only is there no Wifi in the forest but I could hardly get a cell phone signal either. I will be listing both distance from Lost Lake and from Ellensburg as they both vary (I was nearly 20 miles W of town). Ellensburg distances are in parenthesis.

7:35PM - 95.5 KNDY-FM Marysville, KS; with country music and ID. Es died after that. NEW #713, 25KW at 1291 miles. The only Es station I heard in Ellensburg city limits.
