After 22 years at Audacy CHR “Power 96” WPOW-FM Miami, Lucy Lopez has departed the station.

A 2015 Miami New Times profile states that Lopez was discovered by the station when she called in to rant against a host’s rant about girls from her native Hialeah leading her being hired to host overnights. She eventually rose to afternoons and then spent most of the past decade in mornings most recently alongside DJ Zog.

Lucy Lopez is out at the Audacy owned outlet.

I read her post on her Instagram page and she said and I quote "There are some major changes coming to Power 96". What could do those changes be? A change in format, maybe?

They have a Beach and Shark station, they just need one called The Breeze and we'll be all set.

There is no need for The Breeze in Miami since Easy 93.1 already owns the format. Plus there is also Lite FM 101.5. The changes I'm guessing may be to drop the Power name for Now like many of the Audacy CHR stations and the utilization of voice tracked jocks from outside the market or live shows on multiple stations.

That would be a waste of a big brand new building if they did that.
