KZDG is the new station on 1550AM

Althougt I have complianed about Scott Shannon in the past, he was actually a pretty good Dee Jay.

Pretty good? If I had a list of the Top Ten Greatest Disc Jockeys Of All Time (and I don't), Scott Shannon would be on it.

Not only great on the air, but one of the most creative minds in the history of the business. And he's a hell of a guy in real life, too.

He may not be everybody's cup of tea, but nobody is everybody's cup of tea.

Dave:

You know what? The more and more I think about it, I think I enjoyed Shannan more that the music he played. I'll have to listen online once and a while.

Anyone thinking that this is the last format that will be on 1550 AM is smoking some great goodies! 1550 needs to go back to classical music as KKHI!

Are there more than 10 people that listen to classical music on AM?

Check at KMZT in LA and look at their ratings.

KHTK/1140 in Sacratomato is the Raiders outlet for Sacramento, the Central Valley and parts of the East Bay (depending on the quality of your car's radio).

1550 could barely be heard beyond its own guy wires, so not having it on the Raiders' radio network ain't a big loss.

Is there a web feed for KZDG?

I hope there is. I absolutely LOVE the music.

If you LOVE Bollywood/Desi music, you really need to check out the Vancouver, BC market. It's on tap from a number of stations there.......

CKYE 93.1 http://redfm.ca/

CJRJ 1200 http://rj1200.com/

KVRI 1600 http://www.radioindialtd.com/index1.htm

KRPI 1550 http://www.krpiradio.com/

(The bottom two are from American "Border Blasters" based in Whatcom County in NW Washington State that blast their signals into Vancouver......)

It may be a worthless signal by today's standards, but growing up in San Mateo and later in Southwestern Foster City, the station interfered with everything including our telephone line. Nothing like hearing "These are your Classic Stations, KKHI and KKHI-FM San Francisco" in the backgound while you were on the phone.

Did people think you worked at KKHI when you called on the phone?

I said it before and I'll say again, let KFRC rest in peace in the radio call letter grave yard of yesterday. As far as KKSF is
concerned it's boring it's not a real "oldies" station and every time Parker Lewis announces his name I want to change the channel (which I have) my opinion for what it's worth.

I wonder if "Parker Lewis" is the guy's real name, or he actually named himself after a mediocre early 90s Fox sit-com?
