KYBC 1600 / 96.3 translator

http://www.1600kybc.com/

Just checking out the FM radio dial, I stumbled upon the new KYBC 96.3 translator. The 40's, 50's and 60's music nostalgia sounds much better now in central Yavapai County. KYBC, not exactly burning up the AM dial with 1000 daytime / 46 watts nights at 1600 from Cottonwood. Their 96.3 FM signal of 93 watts at 7,805 feet above sea level seems pretty solid. :)

This FM translator use for weaker AM rural AZ radio stations is getting to be more commonplace.

That brings to mind our long-time puny and totally inefficient 1000 watts at 1490 KHz. for the KYCA Prescott old timer. Hasn't the time arrived for giving KYCA decent coverage of the quad-cities area with an FM translator? Lew, can you break out some of your KAHM cash to boost the pitiful KYCA coverage? ::)
