KXKX-FM San Francisco Signs off in 1967

Ironic that this was 1967, just as underground album rock was becoming a "thing" on the commercial FM dial. Today the remnants of free-form radio only exist in the non-comm band - where this station couldn't find any support.

I'm still amazed that KQED-FM retained the "superpower" status of the 88.5 frequency!
