Kurtis Quillin leaves KCEN 6 Waco

Kurtis Quillin left KCEN 6 Waco-Temple-Killeen as sports director in August 2023.

Kurtis Quillin is to become the PIO for a Central Texas School District.

Quillin is exiting the TV news biz, but staying in Central Texas to join the Copperas Cove Independent School District as Public Information Officer (PIO) and director of communications.

The award-winning sports journalist joined KCEN in July 2016 as a news/sports reporter and fill-in sports anchor.

In August 2019, Quillin moved to weekend sports anchor and then sports director in November 2020.

The Oklahoma State University grad interned with KSAT 12 San Antonio.
