KPH Pt Reyes is transmitting tonight 7/12

The "Night of Nights" firing up of the old ship to shore morse code transmitters off the coast of Northern California and other locales appears to be in progresss tonight. Info about this annual shortwave DX observance is in the link below.

I'm heading home shortly to see if I can pick up KPH from Pt Reyes, California up here in Seattle on my old Panasonic tabletop AM.FM.SW radio. There's also a Seattle area station, KLB, that's also supposed to be transmitting, among a few others. See the link below for info and frequencies.

Good luck getting your dusy old shortwave radios to work tonight to hear transmissions from historic transmitters, specially turned on for tonight.

Pretty cool! Wish I had known about this earlier. I might have made the trip to the old KPH xmtr.

Now this is an interesting post. I've been there where you see some of the ruins that Marconi days left behind. Now that's history! For those without shortwave radios...listen to KMKY.
