KLove morning show to move from Indy to Nashville in May.

I had thought that this might be a possibility when they bought a station in Nashville, and I'm surprised it hasn't happened before now. I could also see this happening for Air 1, especially if they can get a full power station there instead of just HD2 on K-LOVE and translators.

What station in Indianapolis did it broadcast from? The article did not specify.

WKLU. It used to be an oldies station until K-Love bought it.

Did the K-Love move to Nashville happen. What about Air1?

It's not a move of the whole operation, just the morning show. The headquarters remains situated in Sacramento.

However, I have heard some unconfirmed talk about the whole EMF operation moving out of what they seem to believe is "Commiefornia" where there is a general rejection of their values in the state government and legislature.

On the other hand, every professional and middle income person I know is giving real consideration to leaving... even our physician and our attorney!

Where would they go? Nevada? Arizona?

Where else can one find weather as good as California's and be near one of the media capitals of the world?

Sacramento is as far from LA as New York City is from Pittsburgh... it is a six hour drive when there is no LA traffic. That is hardly "near" the irrelevant media capital of LA.

And what use does a Christian station have for being near a city where they likely disapprove of the lifestyles and where there is little Christian media origination?

LA movie and TV companies are now doing about two-thirds of their work outside the state... it is too expensive and the laws and regulations are strangling them. Heck, even the huge porn movie companies are moving.

Tennessee would make sense for the whole organization. Lower cost of living, an entertainment and media center with similar values, and a state that encourages that kind of enterprise. The current environment in CA probably frightens them.

Sacramento weather is not exactly like SoCal. It is horribly hot and humid in the summer, and winters are kind of dreary. It's OK, but not spectacular... you did not hear the Beach Boys doing songs about Sacramento.

In fact, California does not have "weather" that is uniform. Northern CA is very different... more like Oregon. The central coast is one zone, the valley is another, then there is Southern CA with the arrid, semi-desert and then both high and low desert with temperatures as high as 125° in the summer (Palm Springs and the Coachella and Imperial Valleys are like that, for example)... there are more but that covers a lot of the state.

I knew it was just the morning show moving to Nashville not the whole headquarters. I just realized now I typed it wrong by not saying the morning show. But a move of the headquarters would make sense too for the reasons said above. Since we have not heard anything I guess the move has been delayed because of covid-19. I thought maybe someone who listens to the K-Love morning show might know.

I tried to find out something if the morning show had moved to Nashville, but haven't been able to yet. I've sent an e-mail to find out what us happening.

Nashville isn't completely devoid of "progressives" or the LGBT community, though the state government is very MAGA. It definitely has a lower cost of living than SoCal.

I am not saying that any location has no liberal residents. What TN and Nashville have is a more balanced spectrum of attitudes, and that creates a better balance and willingness to work together. That would seem to be more "Christian" too... and that is what I suspect the K-Love folks would thrive in.

CA is now so one sided that even in the state legislature there is a two-thirds absolute majority of Democrats. In elections, if two Democrats both get more votes than a Republican in primaries, they run against each other with no Republican at all. I know of so many Republicans who have registered as Independents because their vote in the primary no longer matters and the stigma of being a Republican in CA is like being a leper in the 17th or 18th Century.

And, of course, being a fundamental Christian is looked at by progressives in the same way being a policeman is viewed.

I know the subject line says Nashville, but the article says Franklin TN. It's about 20 miles south, in a different county.

Nashville, like many cities is connected by city limit signs for miles. Franklin, a separate town, is connected to Nashville. It's still very much a suburb of Nashville...in fact, a bit more upscale.

I think this happens with all relatively unknown suburbs within a metro area. Being from Cleveland is recognizable, but being from Lyndhurst is not. Being from Miami is, Kendall not. Being from San Juan is, being from Guaynabo is not. And so on. We identify significantly with our central city, not less well known suburbs or surrounding towns.

Exactly..... its like saying if youre 12.5kw at 463 feet, you said youre 25KW.. the ERP is equivalent to 25kw at 328 feet or so.... 25kw is easier to say and means mroe then 12.5kw
