KISS 104.1 Atlanta adds Roy Wood Jr

...that's right. Cox Atlanta has brought in comedian Roy Wood Jr to pair with Art Terrell at Urban AC KISS 104.1 in afternoon drive. Roy was previously at Summit/Cox's Urban 95.7 JAMZ in Birmingham before Rickey Smiley took over mornings.

Actually, Roy left Birmingham about a year prior to the takeover to go on tour. It's interesting he has made his way back to Cox Radio's urban flagship this time. Additionally, I see Cox is trying to beef up its afternoon drive daypart to obliterate Majic and challenge V-103 newcomer Big Tigger for the 25-34 year olds. This will be amusing to watch (and listen to) b/c Reggie Rouse will come up with something including a permanent co-host for Tigger along with other things. Also what will be Cox's reaction to V-103 and what Majic will do...

It's a good slot for Wood, who's profile is a little bigger thanks to the success of TBS' Sullivan & Son. He's also on a national comedy tour hitting NYC, L.A., Chicago, and Boston with three other comedians on from the show--which undoubtedly helps the tour's Atlanta dates.
