KIIS/Melbourne has definitely made strides over the last couple of years, but they haven't been able to catch up to Fox.

J&L were up to an 8.0 share in the latest survey, but FF&N on Fox were up 9.5 to 11.0.

The thing I have noticed with ARN (especially on KIIS and it's various other incarnations) is they fail to see that Melbourne listeners are very fickle, and take a long time to warm to something "new". Gen X Melbournians have long memories. When (back then) Clear Channel came to Australia and blew up a few very popular stations, like 101.1 TT FM (Melbounre), Melbournians haven't let that go. I've been here 18 years, employed at 3AW, and the numbers that KIIS 101.1 has at the moment are the best in years.

Indeed, KIIS is averaging a 7.0 thus far this year, which is the best yearly average for 101.1 since a 9.2 for 2001... the first half of which were the last surveys for TT-FM.

such filth on the radio.. but this is a business and it clearly makes them money.......

The final book of the year, and Jase and Lauran's last survey saw them slide in to 4th place.
A 12.9 in 25-54 was their best survey in the past year and put them just 0.3 behind Fox. Looks like they went out on a high note to me.

Huh?

Did you mean this for some other thread?

There's no award that I know of for the greatest number of posts to the boards. .. Which is to say, it's fine to stop and check before posting something in a hurry.

Nope.. Kyle is filth on the radio and disgusting.. but as i argue often, its a business and if he makes them money, thats what counts.... as much as that mouth makes him money, it gets him in trouble alot

In what could be a very good move for Nova Jase and Lauren return to radio on Nova 100 Breakfast.

After GfK Survey 8 at the end of 2023 showed just how much KIIS 101.1’s Jase Hawkins and Lauren Phillips were being heard in Melbourne, it seemed only a matter of time before someone else picked the duo up, before Kyle and Jackie O‘s hotly anticipated start date. The answer to who is Nova 100, with their current breakfast team of Ben, Liam and Belle moving with the network to a newly created Late Drive Show.

And the NOVA Network are providing more commitment to local shows with new live workday programs for each of the metros from 9am-2pm. Mel Tracina hosts in Melbourne, Adam Price in Sydney, Daniel Cassin in Adelaide, Maddy Rowe in Brisbane and Ross Wallman in Perth.

Brendan Taylor, Group Programming Director for the Nova Network, said of the new lineups:

“Lauren and Jase are world-class radio broadcasters and their track record speaks for itself. As hosts of the second-highest rating show in Melbourne, we knew their blend of humour, honesty and chemistry would feel right at home on the Nova network. We had to pursue this opportunity and not let a great team disappear from the airways. The timing was right and they’re such a natural fit for us. We can’t wait to welcome them to the Nova family.”

“Ben, Liam and Belle are an incredibly talented hosting team and we knew they had great potential when they joined the Nova Network straight from Triple J‘s national breakfast show back in 2020. They’ve since delivered some outstanding results and have developed a great connection to their audience during their time with the network. We’re excited they’ll be at the helm of this newly created Late Drive show and taking their unique content back to a national audience.”
