Yes, that is true.

Jessica Simpson has a new album coming out, and her first single "These Boots Are Made For" (what a stupid song title) is blazing up the charts with a 54 per week DEBUT. Anyone playing or planning on playing this song. The song title is lame but the song is pretty good.

For new songs:

Hope Partlow - Who We Are
Coldplay - Speed Of Sound (big on AC)
Lil' Rob - Summer Nights (big on Rhythmic)
Fat Joe - Get It Poppin' (big on Rhythmic)
Rihanna - Pon De Replay
Gwen Stefani - Cool
Bow Wow/Omarion - Let Me Hold You
Weezer - Beverly Hills (big on Alternative)
Destiny's Child - Cater 2 U
Daddy Yankee - Like You
Pras - Haven't Found
Gucci Mane - Icy
Ludacris - Pimpin' All Over The World (big on Rhythmic)
Game - Dreams
Gorillaz - Feel Good Incorporated (big on Alternative)
Pretty Ricky - Grind With Me (big on Rhythmic)
Cherry Monroe - Satellites (more mindless Pop-Punk)

"These Boots Are Made For Walkin" is the Jessica Simpson song and was a pretty decent hit for Nancy Sinatra (Frank's Daughter) in 1966. Went to #1 for a week. Jessica's version is awful. Just like her covers of Berlin's Take My Breath Away and Robbie Williams' Angels.

the Coldplay song is already getting CHR play even on WKSC Chicago which is rhythmic heavy like most CHRs. Pon De Replay is going to be a big summer hit. I really don't like it but thats how it goes. Gwen Stefani - Cool is different from her last singles. Sounds more rock and less hip hop/dance/pop. Weezer - Beverly Hills is just waiting to be a Top-10 hit. Its perfect for CHR. Gorillaz - Feel Good Inc will probably peak in early fall like Clint Eastwood did back in 2001. Clint Eastwood hit CHR in June 2001 from what I can remember and was all over the place (at least around here) in late August thru November. The Pretty Ricky song is too R&B for my taste, but is already a hit on CHR. The Pras song is awful. Have yet to hear the Destiny's Child song but this will be their last single because they just broke up so Beyonce can persue her lame solo career.

They broke up again? Do you know why?

Beyonce needs to seriously stop doing these solo acts. The last one (Dangerously In Love) sucked, and the only good songs were "Me Myself And I" and "Crazy In Love".

To be quite honest, wasn't "Lose My Breath" the only top 10 single off their album Destiny Fullfiled? "Soldier" went top 20 and "Girl" flopped.

As for the Jessica Simpson song, it'll be a hit, but probably her future singles will flop, just like her singles from In This Skin ("Angels", "Take My Breath Away", "Sweetest Sin", all flopped...actually "Take My Breath Away" was top 10, but it sucked...it never was a recurrent)

As usual, It Is A Copy.....

It is a cover of Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots are Made for Walking" which was released in the mid 1960's...probably chosen because Simpson is all "rednecked out" in the Duke's movie.

Meh, not that much of a fan, but it may grow on me.

> Coldplay - Speed Of Sound (big on AC)

Fits AC well, but not CHR/Pop.

> Rihanna - Pon De Replay

Loving it, will probably be big this summer like Lumidee and Nina Sky.

> Gwen Stefani - Cool

It's an okay song, but as a follow-up to Hollaback Girl? VERY weak choice for the next single, the album has much better tunes.

> Pras - Haven't Found

I love this song, it's much better than U2. :)

Guess you can't expect much. Jessica doesn't write anything. She probably doesn't know how to write.

I totally agree. Great song. I don't like country, but this will be a hit .... BUT, if it wasn't for the movie she was in, this wouldn't fly. Ah, actress(es) turned musicians, don't you love it?
