Jay Severin: Does He Have A Magic Carpet?

Re: Jay Severin a response

> I think with all the callers being from the local Boston area, the live and local label fits. Why should a listener care where Jay is broadcasting from? It's not like you can see him with a back drop of the NYC skyline in the background. The advertisers certainly don't care as long as he's engaging the listeners in the Boston market place. If Howie Carr was doing his show from his house as apposed to the RKO studios, would anyone know the difference? Just my opionion.

It's not a rumor. It's been in the paper.....and Jay has even addressed it while on the air. So it's no big deal or a big secret anymore.

Secondly, the progarm is still a 'local' program (as opposed to being a 'Syndicated" program). It is produced for WTKK, and airs only on WTKK.

Third, when 'TKK added the "O'Reilly" syndicated program, they stopped using the "live and local" moniker....

Last thought. Is Jay Severin less local doing his show from his Long Island home than Howie Carr, who is doing his show from within city limits?

Howie is syndicated from 3-7PM, and only does 'generic' topics that will work outside of Boston.

Again, Severin does the show for WTKK and ONLY WTKK.

In this day and age, it doesn't matter where a show is done from.
