The last of the Jack FM stations in existence in the UK are closing:
Jack UK was, at its peak, a fairly large operation with a few stations around southern England, in Oxford, Bristol, Reading and along the south coast of England, among others. The Oxford station that is now closing had two spin-offs: Jack 2 playing CHR and Jack 3 playing Soft AC.
There was also a set of national stations - Union Jack, playing only British music (with British rock and British dance sister stations called Union Jack Rock and Union Jack Dance); and briefly Jack Radio, playing only female artists. These all closed a while ago.
The final Jack FM stations will probably become Greatest Hits Radio under their new ownership. With any luck, Hit The Road, Jack will be the final song.
