Jack Busters?

Somebody either has already thought of this, or I am foolishly giving th idea away. Remember when there were companies like "SternBusters?" These were whole consultant firms that were based on beating Howard Stern.

Now that Jack has become such a success (and in such a short time), I would be surpirsed if there is not some consulting firm that crops up who's core business is to bust the Jack format.

What do you think?

not so fast

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. JACK is waaaaaay to new to be deemed a success.
A lot of stations have flipped to JACK-like formats, but that doesn't mean it's worked- not yet. We'll ALL have to stay tuned and be patient.

Calling them winners at this point is just as silly as calling them failures.
NONE OF US KNOWS YET-- THEY'RE TOO NEW TO KNOW.

Re: not so fast

Jack is not a success, unless your idea of a success is the joy of knowing that you can clear out everyone from a station, put the station in the closet, close the door and tell everyone that there's no point in calling because "We play what we want"
The computer will continue to run with some stern-like coast to coast morning show, with no studio nothing.

HELL! the station may as well be in MY basement closet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHAT A GREAT WAY TO GET RICH QUICK!
CHEAP BASTARDS!

JACK=CHEAPER AND CHEAPER AND CHEAPER!...and that's all. If it fails, they'll just laugh and say "well, it's still cheaper to run than anything else!"

Why do you think Buffalo's WBUF threw out FM talk, in favor of Jack, after only 6 months!

(although, I am more of a supporter of talk staying on AM anyway)
______________

OK, then

then, with all your frustration and obvious hot-headed bias against radio today,
you probably should continue to support your talk AM.

Short answer: NO. You'd have more luck telling Buffalo NY to launch an all news format, or to get 640 Toronto(Canada) to go back to some form of music radio.
______________
