Saw a promo for Bay News 9 Espanol that stated the Tampa Bay market ranked #5 nationally in Hispanic buying power.

Knowing that, I'm absolutely stunned that neither CC nor Infinity has flipped an FM to Spanish yet, although in CC's case I still think they'll find a way to do something with one of their signals further down the coast and move it in for the purposes of being their Spanish outlet.<P ID="signature">______________

My understanding is, many of the Hisapnic viewers/listeners in this market aren't from Mexico, they tend to be Cuban or P.Rican and they tend to have a higher income. Sure, there are plenty of migrant workers in places like Polk, but these folks usually won't be recongnized by Arbitron or Nielson anyway.

Brighthouse is hot for that market. We have 3 Spanish stations on cable here in New Port Richey.
