Inovonics 730 RDS will not work with Tieline Bridge-It

Has anyone had success using the Inovonics 730 RDS with the Tieline Bridge-It? We've made many calls to Tieline but nothing has worked so far. We welcome any suggestions. Thanks

Here is our set-up:
Automation: Digital Jukebox
STL: Bridge- It (Studio and Transmitter)…using DSL to connect
RDS: Inovonics Model 730
Baud rate on all devices is set at 9600.
Automation is supposed to send data to studio Bridge-It, then travels over DSL to the transmitter Bridge-It, then data travels to the RDS, then on-air.

Right now, data will travel from Automation to RDS perfectly when tied straight to each other. However, when the Bridge-it is entered into the chain, no data will go thru. The cable used to go from Automation to Studio Bridge-It, and from Transmitter Bridge-It to the RDS is an RS232 cable.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Since you are using a DSL you could get a Serial/Ethernet box on both ends or set the automation to feed over IP and have the Serial/Ethernet at the XMTR? That way you are not using the Bridge-It for data transport?

This is a professional broadcast facility?

Thanks Grich. That did the trick.

You're welcome. :)

Serial can certainly be a pain, but the key is to make sure TxD on device A connects to RxD on the other end of the wire at device B, and so on. It's certainly a lot easier than the DB25 days with everything wanting hardware handshaking.
