By the way if you ever wondered why the WQAM transmitter/tower was behind the Miami Herald building it's because the station was at one time owned by the Miami Herald.

I do not know when that might have been. I remember when the Herald was in a short building downtown, not far from the WOCM/WWPB stick. I also remember when the News moved from what we now know as Freedom Tower to a building at northwest eleventh Ave and seventh street, and finally to the Herald building. James Middleton Cox Communications owned the News, had office space in the Herald building, and they owned WIOD.
