How many Internet stations have become "real" stations?

This post might sound self-serving, but I'm interested in your answers. Both JACK-FM and now Rhythm & Gold started life as Internet streams. Both found consultants who (one way or the other) got rights to put the format on client radio stations.

Any other similar moves? I'm thinking smoothjazz.com and beethoven.com.

I know of a show. Dave Justice doing a rock and roll roots show is on some radio stations and it may have started on the net. I think some other specialty internet shows may have been picked up by radio stations.

There's also RED BAR RADIO which is a "Hot Talk" show similar to Howard Stern. They also have a podcast too. It's based out of Chicago and their website is @ http://www.redbarradio.com/ You can subscribe to the podcast from there too.

I suspect that, before long, virtually ALL the "creme de la creme" Internet Radio shows will make their way out into the mainstream via the world of podcasting. But that's just my opinion though :)
______________

I guy I've been helping out recently just took his Internet show to a local station. The site is lansingsportsrage.com, and you can listen to the show both live and from an MP3 archive. The show soon will be on WVFN in Lansing, Michigan.
______________

Re: How many Internet stations have become \

radioio started KLBU, Santa Fe... the first "chill" format FM in the states. but we've since parted ways with the group involved with that, business wise, so...what i'de like to bring up is that when ambiquous wireless broadband hits the street, it won't matter who has a stick or not. internet-radio will truely obliterate FM/AM owner's markets, and either they are in the game to play, or they are just hanging onto thier last advertising dollars till they have to close shop.that's life. 8)
