Any chance that the First Amendment's freedom of religion provisions could provide a loophole for the Guels here?
No.. First Amendment only applies to citizens of the United States and he's not one

There is no "citizenship" clause in the First Amendment. And in this case, anyway, Guel is a naturalized U.S. citizen.
