Gone with the Sixties

Back in the Sixties there was a place a DJ groupie could go to meet a few and that was the all night Deli. Even in places as small as Pittsburgh and Cleveland. Outside of New York City, any of these places still left? I mean real Deli's with autographed pictures of Henny Youngman and sandwiches with names too.

In Hasbrook Heights NJ, there was the Bendix Diner, with a jillion pictures on the walls, I think it's still there and it's a trip back in time.

I'm not sure I'd call Pittsburgh or Cleveland "small". Compared to NYC maybe they're certainly good-sized cities.

Weren't deli's pretty much a New York thing even back in the day?
OTOH, diners with "clever" sandwich names & nostalgic stuff hung on the walls are dime a dozen.

KQV DJ's could be found at Bubbles and Sherman open 24 hours a day on Fifth Ave.

Cleveland had the Miami Deli with a big neon palm tree right on Euclid Ave.
