About 35 or 40 minutes of spotty Es today to El Paso and parts of New Mexico, with an MUF at 100mhz at the peak. 1 new log. Synopsis follows:
2:54PM - 93.1 KSII El Paso, TX; ID '93.1 Kiss FM,' stayed around most of the time until the end of the opening. Relog, 98KW at 1286 miles.
2:58PM - 95.5 KLAQ El Paso, TX; with TOH ID, El Paso's Best Rock. Relog, 88KW at 1286 miles.
3:00PM - 95.1 KNUW Santa Clara, NM; with TOH ID mentioning calls and slogan 'Southern New Mexico's Conservative Talk.' This is a flip from Hot AC (when I last had them in 2018). Relog, 7.7KW at 1171 miles.
3:04PM - 95.1 KABQ-FM Corrales, NM; with ID 'Hot 95.1' and several R&B/rhythmic songs, heard for about 15 minutes on and off. Relog, 100KW at 1089 miles.
3:11PM - 94.1 KZRR Albuquerque, NM; with ID '94 Rock', RDS, and commercial for Rich Ford in Albuquerque/Edgewood. Relog, 19.5KW at 1092 miles.
3:16PM - 92.3 KRST Albuquerque, NM; country music in skip path, only possible match. Relog, 22KW at 1092 miles.
3:23PM - 96.3 KHEY El Paso, TX; ID '96.3 K-HEY Country.' Relog, 88KW at 1286 miles.
3:30PM - 94.7 KYSE El Paso, TX; Regional Mexican music, ID 'La Tricolor.' NEW #814, 97KW at 1287 miles.
3:33PM - 99.9 KTSM-FM El Paso, TX; ID 'Sunny 99.9.' Relog, 87KW at 1285 miles.
In addition, I logged KRRL-92.3 Los Angeles (Real 92.3) ever-so-briefly on 7/9, around 6:45PM PT. This was an entirely frustrating evening for me. There was a massive 2-meter Es opening in the west but the clouds were TOO FAR for me to reach! A Boise DXer had top-of-band skip for 2 or 3 hours...and nothing here except that 92.3 and a 90.5 preacher for about a minute.
Let's have more before the season is over. This month has been very plentiful to those living on the east coast and in the Midwest for E-skip.
As always, audio is coming (no RDS pics).
