Cindy & Ray and other observations

* C&R are pretty much the 'stars' of the book. Considering Star didn't do Christmas (But Happy Holidays to Kelly McCoy, Fish Man and JT Voicetracker!), thats an impressive showing. I totally dont get Cindy's appeal; she's the AA farm team compared to Vikki, but that's obviously a minority opinion.

* Its not just all-access that's killing Dave. That cat may be in trouble in the PM.

* What's up with the Stews at 790? I thought they were the saviors?

* Intersting that Southside & Rhodes improved and got canned. (And that they do better in 25-54 than 18-34..would have thought it was the opposite)

I think you hit the nail on the head. Southside & Rhodes were 18-34 in their appeal, but the station's music (and target audience) is 25-54/35-54.

Doesn't that always happen (usually canned, big ratings pop in last book). As for Cindy & Ray, I doubt it's their show. #4 is B98.5 Is McCoy one of the top jocks in Atlanta. Last book, he had three breaks:

1) (nearly growling) How'd ya like to win enough money to tell your boss, "Yeah, boss, I'm a-not comin' in tomorrow." (more growl/puking)

2) Check out the B98 90 minutes at nine for your work days.

and...

Okay, no, I was wrong. Only two breaks.

He's probably a much better jock than that (I would hope) but is being reined in by the PD (yeah, that never happens, Mara Davis).

As for C&R, I agree with an original poster. Nothing remotely special there. I'd say it was format. I WILL give them this-- sometimes it's not just about getting listeners, it's about NOT driving them away. It seems C&R aren't doing that in droves.
