Independent tv station WKBF-TV Channel 61 from Cleveland, Ohio was off of the Columbus area cable tv systems after April 25, 1975 when WKBF-TV permanently went off the air.

Special Channel 3 and Special Channel 75 were the network preemption channels on the Columbus area cable tv systems. It carried network programming from other network tv stations in Ohio that the Columbus area network tv affiliates preempted.

The special channels cherry picked programming from Ohio tv stations in Akron-Cleveland, Dayton, Toledo, and Zanesville on a regular basis. When it wasn’t carrying preempted network television programs, it carried television shows and movies not seen in Columbus from other television markets and it also carried the local newscasts from other Ohio cities.
