City Hall will launch a community access radio station

There has been a pirate on 102.9 for a long time, maybe still on.Years ago Choice FM claimed to have the call letters WCFM (which actually belong to a real station in Williamstown) and boasted 2,000 watts.FCC shutdown looming?

In 2011 the now defunct Boston Phoenix wrote of the uncertain future of local pirate stations.They did mention that the unlawful
outlets came in handy for the Haitian community after an earthquake hit down there:
