Another CBC Radio One station is leaving AM to convert to FM. On Monday, the CRTC approved CBC's bid to move CBI in Sydney, Nova Scotia from 1110 kilohertz on the AM band to 97.1 megahertz on the FM band. The CBC plans to apply for several FM translators in outlying areas currently covered by CBI that will not be covered by the new FM signal
So, that will leave 15 AM stations - CBN St. John's, CBY Corner Brook, CBG Gander, CBT Grand Falls, CBE Windsor, CBW Winnipeg, CBK Watrous/Regina, CBR Calgary, CBX Edmonton, CBU Vancouver, CFPR Prince Rupert, CFYK Yellowknife, CFWH Whitehorse, CFFB Iqaluit, and CHAK Inuvik, plus some AM translators in remote areas.
