Cash 1700: Questions

I am 1,000+ miles away from 1700 but with 10kW directional at night they are loud and clear here at night.

I can also hear The Mighty 1090 and have noticed 1090 sports programming sometimes on 1700 from time to time.

Is there a web site and program schedule for Cash 1700?

I can't hear 1700 during the day. Are they a brokered station during the day or do they have some syndicated shows?

Do they have any other non-business programs other than Doug Stephan and Bruce Williams?

This station is not in Tecate (a ¨tecata¨ is a female drug addict) but in Tijuana, quite a distance from Tecate.

My sincere apologies. I will edit the original post. I should have checked the FCC web site for the exact spelling of the city as I didn't have the pattern plot in front of me. FCC on 1600 and 1700:

Cash 1700 is a bizarre station...one would expect John Lynch to do something creative with it...sounds like he is using it to bring in a true cash flow to his other new stations in town with all of the brokered programming.

The station, in my opinion, is a waste of radio frequency.

What? No Johnny Cash on 1700? Good thing there are still a lot of radios that don't have AM past 1610.<P ID="signature">______________

No Pat Cashman on the station either! (a legendary talk personality in the seattle market)

Speaking of money, they do have stock host Moe Ansari at 5pm, when the skywave kicks in on the west coast in winter!

What is the coverage area of 1700 day and night?

Any idea how many western states they cover at night?

I would guess WA,OR,CA,NV,AZ,ID,MOT,UT by looking at the directional nightime pattern, but could be more or less.

On the other hand, it's way up there at 1700 kHz so it could be reaching the Rockies and Plains at night?

Tecata is 20 miles east of Tia Juana. And 30 miles east of Rosarita Beach. Right, D-E?

You are a veritable parody of "The Ugly American."

Bringing in revenues on an AM station with all the other AM's in the market is being creative.

There's a TIS in the Long Beach area of LA (Cypress CA) so it is not reaching there at night. Must be a bunch of other TIS as well.

Wah wah wah

Oooooh, that hurts. Being called a racist name like that. Oh, ouch.

The ¨Ugly American¨ were you to have read or to remember the novel, was simply a cultural boor, lacking respect for any culture or group out of ignorance rather than intent. There is nothing racist about the ¨ugly American¨ stereotype... as it represents the sort of person who simply feels superior to everyone who is not like him.

Based on your response, the shoe fits.

Re: Cash 1700: Coverage area day and night?

What I find bizarre is how John Lynch is credited on being so creative with his stations, yet they seem to be running brokered programming during afternoon drive...based on the billboard which is on I-8 heading east near La Mesa (past Alvarado hospital).

Oh yeah?

So - which of the above three posts is racist ?

Maybe the boorish behavior is coming from south of the border, David Edward.

Or maybe you should look in the mirror. You are infamous for letting courtesy fall by the wayside when you feel strongly that your opinion is the only right one.
