Bleak Future for Linear TV Has Arrived, Analyst Finds

Not really shocking but expected given the past 6-7 years when the transition to streaming picked up. Only difference here are the big networks were making the transition to streaming TV apps initially to go after Youtube and Netflix. The smaller players have uncertainties here.

I hope this "analyst" didn't spend a tremendous amount of effort, time or funds doing his analysis, as he's basically just put into hard numbers what has been blindingly apparent to many for a very long time.

We've been hearing that prognostication from "analysts" since cable TV started becoming a thing. Just like radio with cassette tapes, CD's or streaming; hasn't happened yet.

Television viewership patterns have changed dramatically over the last 30 or so years. Saying "it hasn't happened yet" is to put on a Members Only tracksuit and workout to a Richard Simmons VHS tape.

It happens that TV executives have been able to adapt to the changing business conditions and keep themselves profitable. Those execs are now pivoting to streaming themselves, which will probably be a successful pivot.
