Big Eight Basketball

Somehow syndicated to Nashville in the 80s or 90s, there was a "Phillips 66 Big Eight basketball Game of the Week" on Saturday afternoons. I want to think WZTV-17 (then independent, now FOX) aired the games, either them or then independent WXMT-30, now WUXP-30 (calls from UPN days, now MyNetwork affiliated).

I asked myself why Midwestern/Southwestern college basketball was airing in Nashville, but at least it was something besides B-list or below movies...It was almost like how the current "SEC Network" or "ACC Network" is set up.

I'd like to know who actually produced these games.

The original producer was Katz Sports. Raycom took over in 1986 and brought in Phillips 66 which still sponsors the Big 12.
