Australia con?

Someone told me that australia and NEw Zealand has to play certain percentage of local music like Canada. WHat percentage does Australia have to play australian artist, and also what percentage does New Zealand have to play new zealand music. Is it less than Canada? Also is Crowded house considered to be Aussie or Kiwi music?

Hi

I think Australian stations have to play around 20% aussie content (but in reality its much less than this).
November is Aus Music month & certainly the ABC plays a higher % Aussie content during this month. Triple J gives huge support to Aussie bands including small & unsigned bands.

New Zealand produces some excellent artists & yes, some of us aussies can't acknowledge kiwi talent & pass them off as our own......sad but true.

Crowded House is Kiwi music.....but your average US pop music fan tends to lump everything Down Under, whether they came from New Zealand or Uruguay, as Australian.

I've been listening to a lot of Triple J lately. The Aus Music month ROCKS!
