August 2021 Bay Area Radio PPM Ratings

Here are the August 2021 San Francisco Radio PPM Ratings:

And the August 2021 San Jose Radio PPM Ratings:

Any thoughts?

Wow, the Breeze continues to be a successful station. Soft AC as a format has been a mixed success nationwide, yet The Breeze/KISQ continues to post really good numbers (not just for 6+, but also for 18-34, 18-49, and 25-54). And KISQ is softer than even WDUV.

It's not really surprising, for decades KOIT was #1 by being one of the softer AC stations. 98.1 the breeze is pretty much the old KOIT.

Many ACs were softer 20 years ago, so I'm not sure if KOIT stood out as being among the softest back then.

But, most ACs became more uptempo over time, and the amount of ballads being played were substantially reduced. Even longtime soft AC WDUV in Tampa Bay had to be more upbeat in order to be sellable to the 25-54 demos. So KISQ performing well even in the 18-34 demos stands out.

KISQ seems to have a cume game in mind while it appears many of the soft ACs of late are relying on TSL. KISQ is #2 in cume. Up the road in Sacramento, KBEB has about half the cume of the long-time AC KYMX. KBEB has 85% the AQH share of KYMX, so TSL is the savior. KSWD in Seattle has only about 60% of the cume of KRWM, but has 85% the AQH share of KRWM.

Usual disclaimer that this is all based on 6+, so who knows what's really happening in-demo.

Do you guys by any chance have the teen, 18-34, 18-49 and the 25-54 numbers for KYLD?

But those that buy ads look almost totally and exclusively at AQH persons or AQH rating, not cume.

Anyone who has the data is contractually prohibited from distributing it other than sales presentations. We could give you stand-alone rank, but not share or rating.

I'll settle for that.

WDUV isn't really a soft AC. It's a gold pop classic hits station IMO.

Not that either. Like sister WFEZ in Miami, it is a slightly less current based traditional AC than WLYF in Miami. Demographically, WFEZ performs almost identically to WFEZ

Yes, we all know this. It was simply a general observation of what seems to be driving each Soft AC's overall 6+ AQH in different markets based solely on the limited public information.

Not every post you see is trying to debate you, David. You're a smart guy and I enjoy reading your posts. Every other post, however, does not require a David Eduardo "Yeah, but..." followed by something you and others have said 17,000 times on this site. 🙄
