94.3 Greenville Gets New Format (Again)

Looks like Inner Banks is flipping Star 94.3 to all-sports "94.3, The Game". Don't touch that dial, folks. We'll change the station every 5 minutes anyway! Wonder how many formats have inhabited that airspace since WRQR was classic rock in the early 70's?

Too Many!, it started with "Album Rock" as they tried to be the WQDR down east in the early 1970's, remember when Alan Handleman was on here?, and now, sports, this time i think Henry Hinton has the right idea, this could give 1250 and 930 competition, will they survive?, stay tuned.

Hinton is no dummy. He saw the "writing on the wall" for political talk radio and moved to one of the fastest growing formats in radio... and in a sports crazed community with the right relationships, he can create a gold mine. The Game has a very credible talent line up, the station's imaging sounds good and from the sounds of things the staff is fired up.

What a suprise...

The Hintons add another talk station to their cluster. I feel sorry for their employees.
