1240AM and memories, RIP

As mentioned in an another thread, 1240 is back as a Spanish station. I remember the mighty 1240 KROY days and it's magic very well. I'm sorry to have watched 1240 go through all its changes these past years.

Remember these airchecks?

Sad to say, I doubt that many people remember KROY in it's glory days. I grew up listening to KROY and spent almost 3 years there in the mid to late 70's. I was still a teen and to me it was the most fun. It was the coolest place to be, and I was so very lucky to cut my radio teeth there. I find it so sad that the KROY call letters reside in another state.
