It used to also be the same way with "beauty pageants", at least back in the day. There was Miss America, Miss USA, Miss Universe...Probably another situation where, back when there were fewer viewing and entertainment options and the big 3 OTA networks ruled, one network started airing a pageant, got ratings and publicity so the others each wanted one, too.I'm surprised there isn't an award show for awars shows considering how many there are.There are definitely too many.
