A 30-year employee of KIMA Television, he passed away yesterday in Arizona. He covered Mt. St. Helens' eruption, gang-related issues in the valley, and anything else that needed to be covered on Yakima's first television station, from 1969-99. I've found PLENTY of content with T.J. Close (thanks to all those VHS tapes) including the Flood of '96 special, and I'm sure there's still more to post somewhere. I'm sure that channel 29's folks have viewed my videos plenty of times. He now joins our legendary 'Uncle' Jimmy Nolan forever in heaven. RIP!
