Bakersfield Format Flip

92.1 on July 15 become Q92.1 (rhythmic CHR)

An Update

When “Q92.1” debuts on Monday, it will Rhythmic CHR positioned as “Bakersfield’s Best Music”.

The station will simulcast the “Greg & Dre” morning show from co-owned “Q97.1” KSEQ Visalia/Fresno hosted by Greg Hoffman and Andre Covington. The duo joined KSEQ in 2013 after a long run together as “The Juice Crew” at Clear Channel Rhythmic CHR “B95” KBOS Fresno. Hoffman has programmed KSEQ since 2014 after holding the same duties at KBOS from 2004-2013.

According to the Q92.1 Facebook page, it looks like the launch date was pushed back to next Monday (July 22). Also, the midday jock will be the same midday jock at sister KSEQ Fresno. Originally the FB page had promos for the KSEQ morning show as well, but those aren't there anymore. Seems like this is just going to be a carbon copy of KSEQ for Bakersfield.

I spoke too soon? As of 1pm, Q92.1 is back to normal. Maybe they were testing? But it was an odd selection of music to play for a test.
