WJMJ Translator 93.1 to operate on 92.9

According to this website WJMJ has filed a construction permit and will finally operate on 92.9. This is great news because their translator is causing massive interference to WHYN in Wallingford and I'll finally be able to hear that station better once they move down a notch.

It won't be a total win. They will probably not have coverage south because of 92.9 WEHM on Long Island. The 3 watt 107.1 in downtown New Haven doesn't fill much of the void south.

Wallingford is deep fringe for WHYN anyway. I'm surprised you get a decent signal out of them there even without a translator causing "massive" interference. Do you have ties to the Springfield area? I'm wondering why, in an area with several easier-to-receive ACs to choose from, you'd be so intent on listening to a run-of-the-mill Springfield station.

No I dont, I just like being able to listen to distant stations and having more stations to choose from. When I listen to WJMJ on 93.1 there are spots in my room where I can actually get WHYN with no static at all! Meanwhile I'm unable to hear 92.9 WEHN. .I used to be able to hear Long Island's 102.5 WBAZ before Bomba 102.3 got stronger

Maybe I'd be more sympathetic if I were more of a contemporary AC fan, which I most definitely am not. I know translators and IBOC splatter have made things tough for FM DXers, but I welcome new local signals on FM, so long as they're not selling "salvation."

On 104.7 I usually get K104 over powering 104.7 WELJ montauk but one time I managed to get WOCN 104.7 out of Cape Cod

I used to get WSPK-FM 104.7 of Poughkeepsie every so often in the late 80s. It's just that WIHS-FM 104.9 of Middletown would step all over it. I was living in New Britain's south end then.

I was in Cheshire today. Sitting in the Honda Civic in the shopping center on Route 10 where Marshall's and Stop and Shop are located the 93.1 WJMJ translator was crystal clear as was 92.9 from Long Island.

Once the WJMJ translator moves to 92.9 they will come in instead of Long Island. Just like here in Southington. I used to be able to get La Fiesta 98.5 WBON from Long Island and then when Full Power Radio fired up BOMBA-FM on 98.5 from Meriden, I get them now instead.
