Sam Nover, longtime Pittsburgh TV sportscaster

Sam Nover, who spent more than three decades as a television sportscaster with WIIC/WPXI in Pittsburgh, has passed away in Florida at age 77

Nover was the station's sports director, and served as the television play-by-play voice of the Pittsburgh Penguins in the early 70's. He is perhaps best remembered for conducting the last-ever interview with Roberto Clemente before his fateful plane flight.

I've been reminded that Nover was also the radio play-by-play voice for the USFL's Pittsburgh Maulers during their one and only season.
