Nexstar becoming the largest U.S. TV Operator

That would mean WTIC TV in Hartford would have to be sold off. They are a Tribune station while WTNH in New Haven is Nexstar.

If the FCC were to approve the Nexstar/Tribune deal isn't Nexstar going to have to divest from Mission Broadcasting though. I remember hearing that the reason Sinclair can't get the Tribune stations was on the Sidecar issue like Deerfield and Cunningham.

Sinclair got tripped up because the proposed sidecar companies were run by family members and close cronies of top Sinclair management, which would have been little more than puppets. It was a total sham.

I don't see any issue with the Mission Broadcasting operations agreements in markets that don't currently have a Tribune station.

But this does mean the Seattle problem is solved. Sinclair was facing a divestiture of either KOMO or KCPQ under the previous scenerio. Now, Sinclair is warm and snug with KOMO, and KCPQ can operate in their own skin, with a potential relationship with KOIN in Portland.

KC has none closes is Joplin and Springfield. None of Mission Broadcasting/Nexstar stations have Antenna TV or This TV or TBN but would at least get Movies back to a full power station because KRBK has it and Quest to one because KSHB/KMCI has all Kratz stations and no way IONTV makes it on to a Sub channel KC area.

You and your gibberish.

I would like to know who the candidates for the divested Nexstar stations are though. I knew Fox was mentioned as a candidate to get the divested Sinclair stations but that was called off a few months ago.

Let's not forget WCCT, which is also Tribune

There's also going to be an overlap in Huntsville (three stations), Fort Smith (four stations), the Quad Cities (four stations), Indianapolis (four stations), Des Moines (three stations), Grand Rapids (three stations), Scranton/Wilkes Barre (three stations), Memphis (three stations), Salt Lake City (three stations), and Norfolk/Virginia Beach (four stations).

The deal will give Harrisburg and Richmond two of the "big four" stations.

Will this have a better chance of getting FCC approval than the Sinclair deal was, or will there still be the situation of owning too many stations?

The issue with Sinclair was primarily the way they handled the divestiture of stations, to companies they controlled.

There will be multiple divestitures, as the CEO indicated, assuming the FCC keeps existing ownership limits.

Its not only Nexstar that has to deal with the divestment issue to get the Tribune deal approved by the FCC and DOJ. Also we have the Gray/Raycom talks where Gray Television has to divest a certain number of stations to have their deal approved too.

I would like to know who gets divested in Indianapolis given that Nexstar and Tribune has a total of 4 in that market like WTTV, WXIN, WISH and WNDY

And who will be in the running to get the Divested TV stations.

In theory a duopoly can be had there so Nexstar in theory just has to figure out do they divest FOX or CBS? My & CW they can keep as they arent 2 of the top 4 stations. And also they could just take FOX and move it to the WTTV/WTTK signal as a subchannel then they could keep all 4. Buy the programming of FOX and move it to a subchannel. Then either sell WXIN to someone or just shut it down.
