Subscribers to the "book" get the digital update of the current ratings at 10am or so....later that day at 5p-est the meaningless 6+ is published at the radio websites.

Things to keep in mind are....what matters most is how stations are doing in key demos that they target. No one is buying off the results of just one month, this latest one will be averaged with the last few to get a more accurate picture of true market tastes.

Heritage stations get the benefit of doubt over ratings. They are more likely to get loyalty from longtime advertisers who are happy with their results. This, along with the relationships that sales cultivate play a huge factor....even more so in the smaller markets.

PPM ratings are released at noon local time in each market.

In smaller markets, the usefulness of ratings declines. Local accounts judge results, not ratings. Local agencies look at other considerations as well as ratings.

Yes, Nielsen releases at noon, local time. And we do not look at the tables that are released to the public, which are 6+ or 12+ and total cume.

In many, if not most PPM markets the first download is not the Nielsen data but the XTrends data, which shows the major demos in tables that can have columns for over a year of trending, enabling a quick comparison with prior periods and other stations. The software uses Nielsen data, and is released simultaneously with the Nielsen release.
