John Fisher's new co-host

Jeanne Ashley Named KSWD/Seattle APD/Morning Co-Host

https://news.radio-online.com/cgi-bin/rol.exe/headline_id=n36083

Jeanne Ashley will be on from 5-10am

Jeanne Ashley is appointed Assistant Program Director at KSWD-FM (94.1 The Sound) in Seattle. She'll also assume the role of co-host of the Entercom AC outlet's morning show, joining air personality John Fisher, weekdays from 5-10am for "John and Jeanne." Ashley is an industry vet with broadcast experience dating back to 1990, including on-air roles for WFEZ and WLYF/Miami, KCKC/Kansas City, WYYY/Syracuse NY and WLZW/Utica NY.

"Jeanne is an exceptional radio talent and we are happy to have her join The Sound's air team because of her deep understanding of the values of the Adult Contemporary format, from the interests of its fans to its music library," said Entercom Seattle Senior VP/Market Manager Jack Hutchison. "She is fresh, engaging and a great fit with John's wit and local wisdom. Her music programming skills will provide us with greater creative power in packaging and presenting The Sound's unique blend of relaxing favorites."

Well that's a lovely gift. But 94.1 isn't a country station anymore.

O Larry, you should know a cattle prod is a lovely gift for any occasion. Comes in mighty handy in my sales management career. Also helpful at home to get the kids off to the bus stop in a timely manner.

Just what we need another cheesy out of towner coming in with fake smiles and super encouraging comments on air for your morning. Won't make a difference.

So what are we supposed to do then? Build a wall?

Many Seattle radio air personalities aren't originally from this area. They come and if they like it (most do), they often stay. Might be tougher these days with the insane cost of living around here. But even with that, people often get attached to this place and find a way to stay.
