102.1 WAQY flamethrower HD-2 Signal

Chiming in. Lazer 99.3 Is on it and signal is clear all the way down to Meriden 91/15 merge in Connecticut. Love it.

The station makes a point of the fact that its HD2 is operating at -14db, which is the FCC maximum allowed, as opposed to -20db. So its signal reaches further than most other HD2s.

Some are authorized at -10db. In any case, it's the HD station itself that has the signal, whether it's HD1, 2, 3 or 4.

They experimented up to -10, but the settled at -14. Perhaps some got a waiver.

There was a list of stations that could increase power to the various levels and -10db required a waiver but I don't know how many actually implemented it. It's not the easiest thing to find out.
