Boucher headed up marketing and communications at the Canada Media Fund, a key financier for Netflix's 'Alias Grace.'
Maurice Boucher, a top exec at the Canada Media Fund, the country's main TV financier, has died following a heart attack in Toronto. He was 52.

“It is with deep sadness that we advise you of the sudden passing of Maurice Boucher, the CMF’s director of marketing and communications," CMF president and CEO Valerie Creighton said Wednesday in a statement.

The CMF is a key financier for homegrown shows such as Alias Grace, Vikings, Flashpoint and L.A. Complex, many of which landed on American and other international traditional network and streaming platforms.

A mainstay of Canadian and international TV markets and conferences, Boucher joined the CMF in 2012 and elevated the global profile of Canadian-made TV shows with initiatives like Eye on Canada and Encore+.

Note he was best known as the exec at Canada Media Fund.
