    Crazy tropo in Metrowest

It seems like this morning, Connecticut signals are stronger than they have ever been. I was actually able to get WeBe 108 over Kiss 108 in Natick. I didn't even know that was possible.

Yesterday WCRB 99.5 was coming in crystal clear on my car radio in Plainville, Connecticut where normally I pick up BOMBA-FM a 250 watt translator with their antenna in Waterbury, Connecticut. (COL is Clinton). WCRB was also the only "odd" station I was picking up yesterday. This was around 10:30AM.

Yesterday I got WJBQ, WQRC, WCOD, WOCN, WTHT, WKPE, WFRQ, WFCC and WHYA in Burlington, MA. The first 4 stations and WFCC were all coming in clearly!

Thatís insane. Iíve gotten WEZN before, but Iíve only received WEBE on Cape Cod, Bristol county and RI. Never received WPLR though.

WPLR was completely beating out WPLM. I also got WKCI clearly over the WMRC translator.

Not MA related, but in Michigan, I've had tropo knock out very close stations.
Last year, when I was living in Ypsilanti, 107.1 WSAQ from Port Huron came over local WQKL (less than 10 miles away).
In Manistee, where I have lived most of my life, I have lost 97.7 WMLQ (3 miles away), 101.5 WMTE (3 miles away), and 94.9 WKZC (13 miles away) to distant tropo stations, such as 97.7 WQDC, 101.5 WJNR, and 94.9 WUPZ

Last night in Beverly, WVOM 101.3 (Sean Hannity rerun) from Maine instead of WJIB's translator

When I lived in eastern Arkansas for several years in the late '70s, there'd be at least a half-dozen occasions every summer when Gulf Coast FMs -- mostly Mississippi and a few from as far off as Mobile, Ala., would dominate the band for fairly lengthy stretches.

Here in RI, I picked up New Jersey 101.5 over local B101!

Not surprising, their signal sucks these days. The station is a mere shell of what it once used to be.
I'm not a broadcast radio industry professional (PG/DB by day, HA by night), but, I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express one evening. Now working FT8 on 20/40/80m!
