will this year's beg-a-thon pre-empt traffic updates again?

I cannot help but think how irresponsible it is for a NEWS/TALK station to ditch much-needed traffic updates - even if it is for just one day (for the kids), when that "just one day" is during the monsoon and there's still a strong likelihood of wind/rain/dust/hail storm interfering with the drive home. Will the beg-a-thon's "Detour Dan Moratorium" be lifted this year? You can't give any money to the kids if you're stranded on the I-10 with no idea of when you'll get home that evening.
 
Nurse Jeff and I've decided to close the Media Hut the day of the beg-a-thon. We wouldn't want distracted students winding up in some Buckeye irrigation ditch on our watch.
